Potter's Shoppe & Eatery was conceived by Anne & Andrew Potter in 2020 and  opened in November 2023 at the corner of 5th Street and Burnett in downtown Ames, Iowa.  The restaurant occupies a renovated former service station and utilizes an open floor plan design with several overhead garage doors to stay true to the building's original design.  The front patio area once housed gas pumps as can be seen in artwork and historical pictures displayed in the restaurant.  

Anne Potter is culinary arts graduate from the Iowa Culinary Institute in Ankeny, Iowa while Andrew Potter got his culinary arts degree from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Both are onsite daily to bake and cook for their guests.  

Potter's offers breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Saturday as well as catering seven days a week.  The restaurant sells vintage items as well as food products like jams and teas and gifts.  

Potter's is also available to rent for any occasion during our off hours and can host up to 75 people at a time.
